This involves carrying out data evaluations (e.g. comparison with lists prescribed by the law).
The cookie stores information that arises in connection with the specific terminal device used in each case. This does not, however, mean that we gain immediate knowledge of your identity.
To optimise user-friendliness, we also use temporary cookies, which are stored on your terminal device for a specified period of time. If you visit our site again to use our services, this serves to automatically recognise that you have visited us before, and what inputs and settings you made, so that you do not have to enter them all over again.
The data processed by cookies is necessary for the purposes mentioned to safeguard our legitimate interests and those of third parties pursuant to Art. 6 Para. 1 S. 1 lit. f GDPR.
Most browsers automatically accept cookies. However, you can configure your browser so that no cookies are stored on your computer or a message always appears before a new cookie is created. However, if you disable cookies entirely, you may not be able to use all of the features of our website.
A. Tracking tools
The tracking measures listed below and used by us are carried out on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR. With the tracking measures we use, we seek to ensure that our website is designed in accordance with requirements and continually optimised. We also use these tracking measures to statistically record the use of our website and evaluate it for the purpose of optimising our site for you. These interests are to be deemed justified within the meaning of the aforementioned provision.
The data processing purposes and data categories in each case can be found in the corresponding tracking tools.
1. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc., for the purpose of tailoring our pages to meet your needs and to continuously optimise them. (https://www.google.de/intl/de/about/) (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; hereinafter “Google”). In this connection, pseudonymised user profiles are created and cookies (cf. Section 4) are used. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this site such as
are transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The information is used to evaluate usage of the website, to compile reports about the activity on the website, and to provide other services related to website and Internet use for market research purposes and in order to design these Internet pages in line with requirements. This information may also be transmitted to third parties if this is required by law, or if third parties process this data on behalf of others. Under no circumstances will your IP address be merged with other Google data. The IP addresses are anonymised so that they cannot be assigned (IP masking).
You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) and the processing of this data by Google, by downloading and installing a browser add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout? hl=en).
Google also offers a deactivation option (opt-out) for the most popular browsers, giving you more control over what information Google collects and processes. If you activate this option, no information about your website visit will be transmitted to Google Analytics. However, activation does not prevent information from being transmitted to us or to other web analysis services we may use. For more information about the opt-out option provided by Google and how to activate it, please see the link below: https:// tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en
As an alternative to the browser add-on, especially for browsers on mobile devices, you can also prevent Google Analytics from capturing data by clicking on the link. An opt-out cookie is set to prevent your data from being collected when you visit this website in the future. The opt-out cookie applies only to this browser and only to our website, and is stored on your device. If you delete the cookies in this browser, you will have to set the opt-out cookie again.
2. Google Adwords Conversion Tracking
We also use Google Conversion Tracking to record statistics about the usage of our website and evaluate it in order to optimise our website for you. Google Adwords places a cookie (cf. Section 4) on your computer provided you have come to our website via a Google advertisement.
These cookies lose their validity after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If the user visits certain pages on the AdWords customer’s website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and the customer will be able to tell that the user clicked on the ad and was directed to that page.
Each Adwords customer is given a different cookie, so Cookies cannot be traced via the websites of Adwords customers. The information collected using the conversion cookie is used to generate conversion statistics for Adwords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. The Adwords customers learn the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a page with a conversion tracking tag. However, they will not receive any information that personally identifies users.
3. Use of reCAPTCHA
To protect input forms on our site, we use the “reCAPTCHA” service offered by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA (“Google” in the following). The use of this service makes it possible to differentiate whether the corresponding input is of human origin or whether it the form is being misused by automated mechanical processing. As far as we know, the referrer URL, the IP address, the behaviour of website visitors, information on the operating system, browser and length of visit, cookies, display instructions and scripts, the user’s input behaviour and mouse movements in the “reCAPTCHA” checkbox are sent to “Google.”
Google uses the information obtained in this way, among other things, to digitise books and other printed products, and to optimise services such as Google Street View and Google Maps (e.g. to recognise house numbers and street names).
The IP address submitted as part of “reCAPTCHA” will not be merged with any other data held by Google unless you are logged into your Google account at the time you use the “reCAPTCHA” plug-in. If you wish to prevent “Google” from transmitting and storing data about you and your behaviour on our website, you must log out of “Google” before visiting our site or using the reCAPTCHA plug-in.
4. WORT Collecting Society
On our website, we use the WORT collecting society’s “tracking pixel” in the form of the SZM (“Scalable Central Measurement Method”) provided by INFOnline GmbH (INFOnline GmbH, Forum Bonn Nord, Brühler Str. 9, 53119 Bonn) to determine statistical key figures concerning the probability that texts will be copied.
The data obtained in this way is collected anonymously. It uses either a “session cookie” or a signature, that is generated from various information automatically transmitted by your browser, to track the number of visits. The IP address is only processed in anonymised form. At no point in time are individual users identified for this purpose. This procedure is used to determine the probability of individual texts being copied.
5. wordpress.com STATS
On our site, we use the Jetpack component from Automattic Inc., 132 Hawthorne Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, United States of America, using the technology of Quantcast Corp., 201 Third Street, 2nd Floor, San Francisco, CA 94103, United States of America. Every single time our website is visited, data for web analysis is collected using cookies, and stored in the USA.
The collection and use of data by the Jetpack component may be revoked with effect for the future if you set an opt-out cookie in your browser at http:// www.quantcast.com/opt-out. If ever you delete your browser history, you will have to repeat this procedure.
6. YouTube videos
We embed YouTube videos on some of our web pages. The operator of the corresponding plugins is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. When you visit a page with the YouTube plugin, a connection to YouTube servers is established. YouTube is informed which pages you visit. If you are logged into your YouTube account, YouTube can assign your surfing behaviour to you personally. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account beforehand.
Those who have deactivated the saving of cookies for the Google Ad program don’t have to reckon with these cookies when watching YouTube videos, either. However, YouTube also stores non-personal usage information in other cookies. If you wish to prevent this, you must block the storage of cookies in the browser.
B. Social Media Plug-ins
We use social plug-ins of the social networks Facebook, Twitter and Instagram on our website on the basis of Art. 6 Para. 1 S. 1 lit. f GDPR, in order to make our company better known via these channels. The underlying advertising purpose is to be regarded as a legitimate interest within the meaning of the GDPR. The responsibility for the data protection-compliant operation is to be guaranteed by their respective providers. Our integration of these plug-ins takes place using the ‘two-click method’ to ensure the best possible protection of visitors to our website.
Our website uses social media plugins from Facebook to make its use more personal. For this we use the ‘LIKE’ or ‘SHARE’ button. This is an offer provided by Facebook.
When you view a page on our website that contains such a plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection with the Facebook servers. The content of the plugin is transmitted directly from Facebook to your browser, which integrates it into the web page.
Through the integrated plugins, Facebook receives the information that your browser has viewed that page of our website, even if you do not have a Facebook account or are not currently logged into Facebook
This information (including your IP address) is transmitted directly from your browser to a Facebook server in the USA and stored there.
If you are logged in to Facebook, Facebook can assign your visit to our website directly to your Facebook account. If you interact with the plugins, e.g. by clicking on the ‘LIKE’ or ‘SHARE’, this information is also transmitted directly to a Facebook server and stored there. The information is also published on Facebook and shown to your Facebook friends.
Facebook may use this information for the purpose of advertising, market research and tailoring Facebook Pages to meet your needs. Facebook creates usage, interest and relationship profiles for this purpose, e.g. to evaluate your use of our website with regard to the advertisements displayed to you on Facebook, to inform other Facebook users about your activities on our website and to provide other services associated with the use of Facebook.
If you do not want Facebook to associate the information collected through our website with your Facebook account, you must log out of Facebook before visiting our website.
Twitter Inc. (Twitter) plugins are integrated on our internet pages. You can recognise the Twitter plugins (tweet button) by the Twitter logo on our site. An overview of tweet buttons can be found here (https://about.twitter.com/resources/buttons).
When you access a page on our website that contains such a plugin, a direct connection is established between your browser and the Twitter server. Twitter receives the information that you have visited our site with your IP address. If you click the Twitter “tweet” button while logged into your Twitter account, you can link the content of our pages to your Twitter profile. This allows Twitter to assign your visit to our pages to your user account. We would like to point out that, as the provider of these pages, we do not have any knowledge of the content of the transmitted data or of its use by Twitter.
If you do not want Twitter to be able to assign visits to our pages, please log out of your Twitter user account.
Our website also uses social plugins (‘Plugins’) from Instagram, operated by Instagram LLC, 1601 Willow Road, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA (“Instagram”).
The plugins are marked with an Instagram logo, for example in the form of an “Instagram camera”.
When you visit a page on our website that contains such a plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection to Instagram’s servers. The content of the plugin is transmitted by Instagram directly to your browser and integrated into the page. This integration lets Instagram know that your browser has accessed that page on our site, even if you do not have an Instagram profile or are not logged in to Instagram.
This information (including your IP address) is transferred directly from your browser to an Instagram server in the USA and stored there. If you are logged in to Instagram, Instagram can directly associate your visit to our website with your Instagram account. If you interact with the plugins, for example by pressing the “Instagram” button, this information is also transmitted directly to an Instagram server and stored there.
The information will also be published on your Instagram account and displayed to your contacts there.
If you do not want Instagram to associate the data collected through our website directly with your Instagram account, you must log out of Instagram before visiting our website.

We use components of the XING.com network on our site. These components are a service provided by XING AG, Dammtorstraße 29-32, 20354 Hamburg, Germany.
Every time a web page of ours that is equipped with such a component is viewed, the component causes the browser you are using to download a corresponding display of the XING component.
We use components of the LinkedIn network on our site. LinkedIn is a service of LinkedIn Corporation, 2029 Stierlin Court, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Each time you visit a LinkedIn Web site that is equipped with such a component, the component causes the browser you are using to download a corresponding display of the LinkedIn component.
This process lets LinkedIn know which specific page of our website is currently being visited. If you click the LinkedIn “Recommend Button” while logged into your LinkedIn account, you can link the content of our pages to your LinkedIn profile. This enables LinkedIn to assign the visit to our pages to your LinkedIn user account.
If you contact us via the WhatsApp instant messaging service, you automatically provide us with your telephone number. We also see your WhatsApp nickname.
Please note that confidentiality and data security are not guaranteed with instant messaging services. By installing and using WhatsApp on your smartphone or mobile device, you agree to be bound by WhatsApp’s terms and conditions, which we have no control over. These include, but are not limited to, your granting WhatsApp Inc. access to your telephone number and the contacts stored on your mobile device. Similarly, data is stored on WhatsApp Inc. servers that are not subject to European data protection laws. We are not liable for damages caused by the use of these platforms.
By actively contacting us, you consent to the use and storage of your telephone number. The telephone number will only be used to provide the described/subscribed WhatsApp service. Your data will not be transmitted to others.
The duration of the data storage corresponds to the period of use of the WhatsApp service. You can object to the storage of your number at any time. Send us a WhatsApp message with a clear text – your data will usually be deleted within 48 hours at the latest – and delete us from your contacts.
We use the common SSL (Secure Socket Layer) method in connection with the highest level of encryption supported by your browser. As a rule, this is a 256-bit encryption. If your browser does not support 256-bit encryption, we use 128-bit v3 technology instead. You can tell whether an individual page of our website is transmitted in encrypted form by an enclosed key or lock icon in the lower status bar of your browser.
Apart from that, we use appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your data against accidental or intentional manipulation, partial or complete loss, destruction or against the unauthorised access of third parties. Our security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments.
